Natural type cheese varieties saw strong growth for both retail sales volume and dollar sales in the first quarter of 2009 compared to the same period last year. Retail sales volume in the quarter grew 4.2 percent, while retail dollar sales grew 7 percent, reaching $2.1 billion. These highlights and others are included in the newly released IDFA Cheese Market Research Project Report, First Quarter 2009. The report tracks data on detailed cheese segments and includes an analysis of both production and sales trends developed by IDFA. Subscriptions are available to IDFA members only.
