This year's Washington Conference attendees will get the "inside scoop" on federal dairy policy by Rep. Frank Lucas (R-OK), Ranking Member of the House Agriculture Committee when he addresses the group at the June 17 Washington Insiders Breakfast.

Currently serving his 9th term in Congress, Rep. Lucas is a fifth-generation member of an Oklahoma farm family who understands the concerns of agricultural businesses.

"We are delighted that Rep. Lucas has agreed to speak to our group," said Jerry Slominski, senior vice president for legislative and economic affairs. "As a farmer, a seasoned member of the House Agriculture Committee and a conferee on the 2002 and 2008 Farm Bills, he understands well the state of play for the food industry."

The annual Washington Conference is an opportunity for IDFA members to make their voices heard in Washington. Conference highlights include a dairy policy briefing, networking opportunities with members of Congress, and the annual Capitol Hill Ice Cream Party. New this year will be a Cheese & Pizza Tasting Reception for Members of Congress and their staff to showcase cheese products as part of a healthy, balanced diet and a reformulated, healthier version of one of America's favorite foods.
