Dr. Chester Clarke is a Managing Scientist in the Health Sciences practice of Exponent, Inc. in Bowie, Maryland. He is a licensed physician, board certified by the American Board of Preventive Medicine in Public Health/General Preventive Medicine. His areas of expertise include health effects of biological, chemical, and nuclear weapons; health effects of indoor mold exposure; the pathophysiology of burns; the epidemic of opioid overdoses; epidemiology; occupational health; international health; and infectious diseases.
Dr. Clarke's clinical experience includes 15 years in a variety of settings ranging from Indian Health Service clinics in Barrow, Alaska, and Pine Ridge, South Dakota, to inner city clinics in Chicago and Baltimore. His clinical experience includes work in both Occupational Medicine and Family Medicine. Prior to receiving his training in Preventive Medicine at Johns Hopkins University, he worked for the Family Medicine Department of the Johns Hopkins Medical Service Corporation gaining experience in rural, suburban, and urban medicine.
During the current COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Clarke has been involved in assisting health and safety personnel in different companies understand the public health and occupational safety aspects of the virus.
