Dr. Nicholas Siciliano co-founded Invisible Sentinel in 2006, a molecular diagnostics company that predominantly serves the food and beverage industries, where he currently serves as the CEO. He is the inventor of the company’s proprietary platform technologies, veriFLOW® and veriPRO®, and led the company’s business and R&D initiatives from concept through acquisition. Invisible Sentinel was acquired by bioMérieux, a global diagnostics company and a market leader for infectious disease testing, in February 2019.
With the food system undergoing major changes as data science, new technologies, and new foods disrupt the way manufacturers tackle food safety and quality, Nick has consistently been at the forefront. Prior to the acquisition, Invisible Sentinel had sold over 1 million assays in 60 countries to food and beverage manufacturers, breweries, wineries, 3rd party testing laboratories, and government labs.
Nick received a B.S. degree in Chemistry from Villanova University and shortly thereafter began his scientific career in the Department of Microbiology at the University of Pennsylvania Medical School studying host-pathogen interactions. He then earned a Ph.D. in Immunology and Microbial Pathogenesis from Thomas Jefferson University where he studied antigen presentation.
Nick holds multiple utility and design patents for diagnostic technologies and has published scientific manuscripts in the fields of bacteriology, virology, immunology, molecular biology, and cancer immunotherapy.
