IDFA was founded in 1990, bringing cheese, milk and ice cream processors and their suppliers together to strengthen the voice of dairy in legislative, regulatory and communications efforts. Building on that foundation, IDFA offers several categories of membership and a commitment to that same goal.
Any person, partnership, corporation or other legal entity (except for a trade association) engaged in the dairy processing and manufacturing industries in the United States, Canada or Mexico is eligible for IDFA Dairy Processor voting membership. This category includes those engaged in processing, manufacturing, distributing, marketing or licensing dairy products or dairy-derived ingredients in the United States, Canada or Mexico. An IDFA Dairy Processor member may participate in one or more of the Industry Segment Boards that match its product business.
Any person, partnership, corporation or other legal entity (except for a trade association) engaged in the dairy processing and manufacturing industries outside of the United States, Canada or Mexico is eligible for IDFA International non-voting membership. This category includes those engaged in processing, manufacturing, distributing, marketing or licensing dairy products or dairy-derived ingredients outside of the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Any person, partnership, corporation or other legal entity (except for a trade association) in the business of procuring, using or selling processed or manufactured dairy products is eligible for IDFA Dairy User non-voting membership.
Any person, partnership, corporation or other legal entity (except for a trade association) in the business of supplying goods or services to the dairy processing or manufacturing industries is eligible for IDFA Gold Business Partner membership. This category includes brokers of milk products, ice cream, cheese products, yogurt and cultured products, butter, dairy-derived ingredients or other dairy products and services. An IDFA Gold Business Partner has voting rights, and employees are eligible to serve on the Executive Council. The Gold Business Partner may participate in one or more of the Industry Segment Boards that match its product business or services.
Any trade association or comparable organization representing processors, manufacturers, distributors, marketers or licensors of dairy products or dairy-derived ingredients is eligible for IDFA Affiliated Association membership. Affiliated Association Members do not have voting rights and are not eligible for seats on the Executive Council or Industry Segment Boards.
