The dairy products industry in North Carolina employs more than 28,000 skilled individuals, generates more than $821 million in direct wages and has an overall economic impact of $2.85 billion.
The state’s dairy companies rank 18th among the 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico in contributions to the U.S. gross domestic product in 2017, according to IDFA’s Dairy Delivers.
