Two of the prime selling points of dairy products are their nutritional profile and the health benefits of consuming multiple servings of dairy each day. These benefits are often highlighted on labels or other materials that can be considered labeling. Many of these statements and claims are regulated through federal or state rules.
Next month, I’ll be co-presenting a labeling webinar that will deal with all aspects of food product labeling, including health claims, nutrient content claims and structure/function claims. We’ll also cover additional statements, such as rbST, GMO and natural claims. You can refresh your knowledge about these claims and other labeling issues in just three afternoon conference calls. While many of the attendees are regulatory staff, there could be a lot of benefit for R&D staff or marketers in knowing the positive statements that can be made.
