This webinar series gives you a general overview of dairy labeling regulations. It provides the history and jurisdiction for labeling regulations; requirements for the statement of identity, including flavor labeling; net quantity of contents statements; nutrition labeling; and ingredient declarations, including allergen declaration.
The webinar series also covers marketing claims that include nutrient content claims such as reduced sugar, low sodium and high protein, along with lactose free, gluten free and natural and other labeling terms, such as Grade A, Kosher, and the Real Seal. Compliance with the USDA’s Bioengineered Food Disclosure Standard is also addressed.
New this year: policy changes that may affect your product labels, including FDA’s draft guidance on plant-based dairy alternates, potential Front of Pack Nutrition Labeling, recyclable packaging claims and “healthy” claims.
