New Morning Consult polling commissioned by the International Dairy Foods Association among a sample of 2,202 U.S. adults shows many Americans are unaware about the availability of lactose-free milk options in public places like grocery stores, schools and hospitals. A large majority of Americans across the political spectrum support the U.S. government funding to ensure lactose-free milk availability and assist in educational initiatives about the benefits of lactose-free milk.

The national tracking poll was conducted between June 6-7, 2024. The interviews were conducted online, and the data were weighted to approximate a target sample of adults based on age, gender, race, educational attainment, region, gender by age, and race by educational attainment. Results from the full survey have a margin of error of plus or minus 2 percentage points.

Key results from the poll are below, and the full survey results are accessible here.
