Whether they’re picking up produce at a grocery store or a burger at their favorite restaurant, Americans are facing higher food bills. In the latest episode of The Dairy Download, we talk to two experts about the factors pushing prices higher.
First up is Dr. Ricky Volpe, who teaches courses in food retail, supply chain management, transportation and logistics and data analysis at Cal Poly. While food inflation isn’t a new phenomenon, he tells us why it’s dominating today’s headlines. Volpe also discusses the reasons we have fewer options at our local grocery stores.
Next, we speak with Susan Quam, Executive Vice President of the Wisconsin Restaurant Association. She discusses food inflation, labor shortages and other challenges facing the nonprofit’s 7,000 members. Quam also talks about Wisconsin’s favorite foods.
